We are seeking prompt intervention and support of Hon’ble Chief Minister Maharashtra Shri Uddhav Thackeray ji to disallow the operations of IT/ITeS/BPO/KPO companies from offices to safeguard life, jobs and families of more than 9 lakh IT/ITeS/BPO/KPO employees in Maharashtra. Considering the increasing number of patients & death rate in Maharashtra the employees shouldn’t be forced to resume offices by the companies & should be allowed to work from home. There are several challenges for the employees in resuming offices physically as a lot of employees are from neighboring towns & districts. Due to lockdown the employees had no options but to shift to their native places. Now if suddenly employees would be forced to shift back to Pune it will be a chaotic situation. As per new orders the companies are allowed to work with full capacity if all the employees are vaccinated but the Government’s GR hasn’t mentioned about any provisions for vigilance of the same by appropriate authorities. The GR also says that the companies would be permitted to allow 25% of the overall staff in one shift but again doesn’t mention that would it be monitored by any Government authorities. It is our fervent hope that the lives of employees & their family members would be considered & given priority while taking decisions regarding operations of IT/ITeS/BPO/KPO companies.
Thanks
